Email Problems
Follow the troubleshooting steps below.
- Our first recommendation is
always to test your E-mail functionality using our WebMail
Client
If you cannot send and/or receive E-mail using WebMail,
then please CONTACT SUPPORT
If you CAN send/receive using WebMail, then please
continue on through the instruction.
- The next step is to check
your E-mail programs settings. We have detailed instructions on
setting up the most popular E-mail clients, including MS
Outlook, Eudora, and more...
If your E-mail settings are correct, then please continue
on.
- Your ISP, or Internet Service
Provider may also be affecting the proper functionality
of your
E-mail system. Many ISP's including, but not limited to:
EarthLink/MindSpring
MSN
Most any free ISP, such as
NetZero or BlueLight
Do NOT allow outgoing E-mail (SMTP). Click here for more information. If your ISP
is not mentioned here, then we have a simple test that
you can perform to find out.Go to your Windows Start menu, and choose
" Run "
Type the following command: telnet mail.yourdomain.com 25
(Note: This will test your ability to SEND E-mail.)
OR:
telnet mail.yourdomain.com 110
(Note: This will test your ability to RECEIVE
E-mail.)
If you can connect via
Telnet, then the port is open, and you will be able to
send/receive email. Click here if you need further assistance.
- You can read more about using
your site to send out email in the articles below:
